  1. I always use avidemux to convert avi to Svcd format..I have a file that when converted gives awful choppy ,jumpy playback..Here are details Is it a fault with conversion or is their something or a setting(or another software) i can use to combat this problem..i have found this is the 2 nd time this has happened when trying to convert a DivX file

    Video Codec Name ...: DivX 5.0 codec
    Video Bitrate ......: 966 KB/s
    Resolution .........: 720 x 518
    Aspect Ratio .......: 1.38:1
    Framerate ..........: 23.975 FPS
    Audio Length .......: 01:29:12
    Audio Bitrate ......: 128 KB/s (CBR)
    Channels ...........: 2 Ch
    Sampling Rate ......: 48000 Hz

    Are you converting to 25 fps (PAL) ? Try instead convert to 24fps (NTSC) with pulldown.

    Or try another converter, like xmedia recode, thefilmmachine and see if it works any better.

  3. I think with avidemux it automatically converts to the file framerate,I am going to try the convert to 24fps with pulldown..Im not sure if you are familiar with avidemux..i have never tried this before..this is the only option for puilldown and i have no idea what settings should be....



    in the meantime i will try xmedia recode..i have always had problems with the film machine in the past...
