I have comcast and can record tv shows on DVR.
Can I make a DVD on computer from that?

In addition to edDV's advice, if you have the right cable box you might be able to capture using the Firewire port on the box.

(I've done this a few times in the past, but not recently, so I have no idea if this is still possible or not. And it may only be possible for some channels and not others. Trial and error, and YMMV apply here.
