    Hello

Recently got the lovely Bravia 40W5710. I have it linked up to my home network, all working there.

However, the manual states that you can stream both MPEG2 and AVCHD video files to the TV. I have managed to stream MPEG2 files (after a bit of playing with the MPEG settings - will only read 720x576 files), but cannot stream any AVCHD files.

Does any one knwo what setting/format the AVCHD files need to be in order for the Bravia W series to see them on the network?

    Thanks. eon

    Hello Baldrick

Thats along with all the other settings is part of the problem, I don't know what resolution to use. If it is from a DVD should it be 720x576 (Pal) or should it upscale to HD resolution?

I am using RipBot to do the conversion and have tried a few settings, none of them seem to output anything that can play on the Bravia LCD. However, there are a lot of settings to play with and don't knwo where to start:

    Base 3.0 ?
    Main 3.0 ?
    High 4.0 ?
    Mixed R-Frames ?
    Cabac ?
    Adaptive Quant ?
    Trellis Quant ?
    B-Frames ?
    B-Prediction ?
    B-Pyramid ?
    Adaptive B-Frames ?
    AVC Level 1.0 to 5.1 ?
    Subpixel Refinement ?
    ME Algorithm ?

I just don't know which of the settings the Bravia can and can't handle? I have tried to ask sony them selves, but they have obviously just decided not to reply.

    Any Suggestions?

    Thanks. eon
