Every few months this poster posts some variation on the same thing...
How do I make my DVD player region free?
How do I make my DVD player play VCD?
Anyway, the ability to play VCD depends on the firmware. If your player doesn't support VCD, you'll need to get firmware that supports it. It is extremely unlikely that the manufacturer will make this change or that someone will make hacked software to support VCD. -
Unfortunately it looks like the 370 doesn't support VCD's. Which is a bit of a surprise, because it DOES support many other formats!
You could always rip the VCD to your hard disk, then re-author to DVD. Probably get about 3 or 4 VCD's onto 1 DVD disk (at normal VCD quality). -

Is it because the manufacturers don't want low quality to besmirch their HQ credentials, or is is to cynically try to force VCD disk owners to upgrade to BD? -
