    Hi

I am encoding an mkv file into elementary MPEG2 Streams in AVS2DVD
The process starts just fine untill it reaches the audio enconding, then the progams stops and I get an error.
Since I usually start the encoding before I go to sleep I'm unable to tell if the problem happens at the beginning or at the end of the audio encoding.
The error is : "PROCESS ABORTED DURING TITLE 1 AUDIO (TRACK 1) ENCODING OPERATIONS"

I have already tried switching Wavi+Aften for FFmpeg+Aften in the audio preferences and I got the same error. This time I can tell I got the error at the end of the audio encoding. Plus the audio encoded file is 0 kb.

I have then tried switching FFmpeg+Aften for QuEnc in the audio preferences and the audio process completed without errors.
But the encoded audio file appears to have no sound when I play it.

    Plz help.
    I thank You in advance...

P.S.: I have noticed there is a new version of AVS2DVD (v.233). Meanwhile, I'll download it and check if the problem persists.

    Cheers

AVStoDVD has had sporadic issues when the source has HD DTS audio. I suspect this is your problem now. I believe the latest version has some changes to try to address these issues, so that is certainly the first thing you should try.
    Read my blog here.

there's something I cannot figure out from the log file:

    1. From the Preferences log, 'Keep DVD Compliant Audio' is on, but your DTS track has been encoded and not retained, even it is potentially DVD-compliant. Did you toggle off 'Keep DVD Compliant Audio' from the 'Edit Title'/'Audio' section?
    2. AC3 audio has been encoded at 1536 kbps, which is impossible to select in 'Edit Title'/'Audio' if AC3 is choosen as audio output. How did you get it?
    3. Have you tried to run the project just leaving default AVStoDVD settings (better if you use release 2.3.3)

    Hi _MrC_ and guns1inger

    TY for Your fast replies

    1. "Keep DVD Compliant audio" is toggled on. Basically all the Audio options are set as default apart of the bitrate and the AC3 audio encoder, as I randomlly tested all 3 encoders.
    2. I have no clue on how it has been encoded at 1536 kbps. As a matter of fact, I haven't realised that untill now that you mentioned it.
    I have selected 448 kbps AC3 in "Preferences/Audio".
    3. I did already download the newest AVS2DVD version but still haven't had the opportunity to try it. Will be posting the result as soon as possible after using the default settings.

    Cheers

It looks to me like it has retained the bitrate of the source (1536), but changed the codec to AC3.

What is really weird is that:

    1. AVStoDVD by default retains DTS tracks with 16 or 20 bit resolution (max 6 ch, bitrate 768 or 1536, sampling 48000 Hz)
    2. If the user wants to re-encode must go to 'Edit Title'/'Audio', toggle off 'Auto Audio Setup', toggle off 'Keep DVD compliant audio'
    3. At this point, if the user select AC3 instead of DTS (AVStoDVD is not capable to do DTS encoding), then bitrate automatically goes down to 448 kbps (which is max allowed by DVD specs for AC3).

Yup. I have noticed in ffdshow that the source is 1536.

    Hi

Sry for my late reply. I've been very busy latelly.
I tried the latest version with the standart audio settings (only switched the bitrate to 448) and the problem persists
I'll try once again encoding the project in NTSC.

    Cheers

btw If it I get the same error again, I believe I'll try encodind with ConvertXtodvd and extract the audio from the encoded file with DVD Decrypter.
Maybe this sounds silly but I really like the quality I get with AVS2DVD, so I'll use it's encoded video file (since it completes video encoding and the file works just fine) and join it with the ConvertXtodvd encoded audio file

    Cheers

    Hi

When I try to access edit/title I get an error window and it appers I cannot change neither video or audio settings.
I have managed to create my DVDR with the process I have mentioned in my previous reply.
Anyway and once again, thank you _MrC_ for the great app, for the good work and fast feedbacks on my posts

Here are the screens so you can figure out the problem

    Cheers
