I opened the disc tray, pressed 2 4 0 3 9 6 0 and then 9, closed the disc tray and switched off the player before it said "no disc" - exactly as recommended on this site. After that the player plays all regions, but no sound whatever the region is. Please. help me if you can!

Actually, we probably should have a disclaimer somewhere (if we don't already) that says that any hack should be applied at your own risk and we don't guarantee that it will work.
Check your setup on the player and be sure that the audio it hasn't changed to something you're not expecting like using a new type of connection it wasn't using before. -
I did. Audio settings have 2 options - hdmi (which was before) and "raw" (dont know what it is). Neither of them works

This is not good news to me. I own the same DVD player and was just about to perform the same operation. Should anybody have a confirmation that this hack did work for them, please post. Otherwise, would it be a good idea to issue a warning on the hack page? I do realize there's always a risk though.
