I´m trying to convert a 720p movie from mkv into something that will play on my PS3 and fit on a DVD5 but whatever program I use (and I´ve tried dozens) the audio is always out of sync and the out of sync rate is not constant, at the begining of the movie it´s just a few seconds, later on it´s several minutes. After trying everything (and every program) I could think of I finally gave up and decided it to just stream it using PS3 Media Server, but the audio is also out of sync that way...!

Could someone take a look at the file info below and tell me what (if anything) is wrong with it that could cause the out of sync audio?

PS: the file has dual audio but I only want to keep the original English audio track
PS 2: I should also mention that in one of my many attemtps I had demuxed the audio and video tracks to later mux them back together and for some reason the length of the audio track was approximtely 7 minutes off from the length of the video, I think the audio was 2:35 and the video 2:42 or viceversa.

Is the mkv in sync when you play it?

Or just rerip from your original blu-ray to new mp4.

why not take it one step further and just make an AVCHD disc out of the file? also...think about dropping the other audio and subtitle files, demux and just remux with one audio stream.

  4. Well, I was having the same problem as you just a few days ago. I recommend using Mencoder. Seemed to fix the audio sync issues you are talking about. I'm using the Winmenc GUI frontend to do my conversions on MKV files now.

Hi Alexstarfire, how do you convert files using Mencoder? Because all I got from the download links is a video player
Did I dowload the wrong thing? Am I missing something?
