    my dvds and cds will play in my dvd drive and i can also copy from them but it wont recognise any other such as dvd -rw or dvd-r or any of the other discs formats ,can you help please,i have a matshita uj-805s drive

    Assuming this is in a notebook / laptop ?

    Note: Support for optical drive falls to manufacture of the notebook / laptop according to panasonic

    Easiest way ... those drives are just damn to picky with numerous complaints ... replace it preferably with something like Pioneer DR-K17YC and enjoy the system with lesser issues.

    Keeping the drive ... use only verbatim or taiyo yuden media ... but still errors ... just fewer.
