I have bought a portable DVD player in the US to use it in Brazil. Most of the DVDs won´t play. I have searched your topics here, but did not find tips regarding this product. Does anyone know if there is a way to make it region free? Thank you very much!

Very few USA sold DVD players can be made region free now. "Speciality" players such as portables, combo units (ie. DVD/VHS, DVD/TV), recorders and car players often don't have hacks. Every day it seems that the list grows larger of players that can't be made region free. Good luck, but you may have wasted your money. Some Brazil DVDs don't have region coding so that may save you. If it's something from the USA like a Hollywood movie or an American TV show, it probably has region coding. If you want to watch a Brazilian movie or music DVD of Brazilian singers, it may not have region coding. I have several DVDs from Brazil of musical performances and I don't remember any of them having region coding.

Thank you very much, jman98. I was afraid of that. I will try to sort out which dvds are OK to play there and will try to make copies of the ones which are not region free to see if the copies play. Thanks again.

I have a question on this particular portable DVD player. When I use to watch a DVD on it without headphones, the volume use to be pretty good, which works well when you are watching it in the car. But now, for some reason, the volume is really low. If I plug it into the auxillary jack of the car, the volume is good. I'm pretty sure that it still sounds good if I was using headphones, although I haven't tested this recently. But I wonder why the volume is so low all of a sudden. Almost like I blew out the speakers or something. Anyone has any idea what is happening?

    Thanks!
