I just got a Sony HDR-XR500V and would like to get a hot shoe directional mic for it, but I can't find any mini hot shoe equipment.
Is equipment for the mini hotshoe interface just not made? There's plenty of stuff kicking around for the regular hotshoe interface, just not the mini.
Any ideas? Thanks![]()

Hotshoes on any Sony camcorder are Sony proprietary connectors that will only accept Sony accessories. I was in the same boat and after a lot of heave-ho, in the end, all I could get was the ECM-HGZ1 gun zoom mic for my HDR-SR12. Not bad, but there are better (and cheaper).
For the nth time, with the possible exception of certain Intel processors, I don't have/ever owned anything whose name starts with "i".
