Hi,
My Xamba 500 does not work properly in writing mode. It can read, but when trying to format
a new dvd +RW disk it stop’s when about 90% is ready. When trying a dvd +R it looks like it has done the formating but when trying to write it stops after a while probably because the formatis corupt. I suppose it is the laser or the pws for the laser. Tried to find a spare drive but as you all know by now , it’s not easy as the manufacturer is not on the market any more. I found some units on google an auction site in Belgium but they are already gone but where? The site does not reply on my request.
I know that the DVD drive is MH70404C-1 but that is all. The CB is customer design so it has to be all together. However if I would know the type of the mechanism I could give it a try but who know's about data for servo and opto?
Any one knowing where to find this drive?
I have found a old post from Ivan Larsson talking about the drive but his e-mail address is not valid anymore.
You are welcome with any info you may have about this issue.
