    Hi,

I am recording a video in which the spokesperson speaks a bit fast, which makes the video sound slightly hurried (it actually isn't terrible but as the owner of the video I want it perfect)

-I would like to slow down the footage to 95% or even 90% speed.

-Even better would be the option to slow down certain segments at certain speeds.

What is the best software for achieving this?

KMPlayer will play back the video nicely at slower or faster speeds u can change video speed up and down 5% at a time, i cant remember the default settings but hit F2, Audio Processing,Basic Audio Filters click the 2 check boxes "Enable time stretching" and "Use previous method"

Enable Pitch Scaling will just make it sound how WMP or VLC does at different speeds, chipmunk ect probably not what u want

Anyway i just mentioned this if u wanted to play around a bit and test different speeds till someone answers you ^^

Vegas - Ctrl + Drag to speed up or slow down. Most editors have some facility to do this.

Virtualdub can do the video part while the audio can be adjusted in Audacity if you want a free solution.

Or Avisynth (also free) has a wide range of framerate changing affects and plugins for altering the speed of footage.

Yesterday I did the opposite, and used avisynth and virtualdub to speed up 70 minutes of footage to fit into 40 seconds of playback.
