TrendSetters....I have an MKV video file with internal English subs. When playing this video file on my computer, the subs are displayed, but when played on the TV via a popcorn media player, the subs are absent.
So reading as much as I can understand, I have used MKVE to extract the separate files to (1) Track1 H264 (2) Track2 AC3 and (3) Track3 Srt.
At this point I am lost. What tool do I need to re-create these files into something viewable on a mediaplayer, preferrably Xvid or Mpeg ??
    Thanks in advance

You can remux to a ts using tsmuxer and use a separate subtitle file(extract from mkv using mkvextract), see http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/index.php/MKV_Troubleshooting

I tried TSMuxer with separate srt file, but still cannot see the subtitles on the TV.
After further research on this great forum I downloaded and tried Xvid4PSP. This actually worked for me, producing an AVI file with subs BUT......The orginal MKV video file is 90 minutes long, and Xvid4PSP will only produce the first 54 minutes of the video (Same on several encoding attempts).
Why does it not encode the full 90 minutes Am I doing something wrong

I don't know on TSMuxer, but since the subs are .srt, it's easy to convert. DVDFab has no problem with converting mkv with SRT subs outside of the container. Look in my sig for the instructions.
    MKV: Merely Krappy Video.

Subbers, a request from an avid viewer: Either don't use mkv, or supply avi or mp4 as an alternative.
