I'm experiencing some difficulting capturing beyond 1h 6min of MPEG2 DVD quality from my source. I have a 120GB drive with plenty of space, P4 2Ghz, Win XP Pro, and 1G of RAM.
I never receive loss of audio sync and NO dropped frames. It just simply quits capturing at around 1h 6m. Does any expert out there know what the problem may be?
I think I might be running into the FAT32 4 Gigabyte (Maximum File Size Supported) issue. Does anyone know a way around that? Does anyone know how to convert a FAT32 file system to NTFS? NTFS supports 2 Terabytes - so that should be plenty.
Please help if you can gurus. Thanks!

You didn't say what you are using for the cap (hardware and software). If it's like a lot of capture cards/devices there is apparently a bug limit to the drivers of 2 to the 32nd power microseconds (from the Virtual Dub documentation) that MAY be overcome by using the latest drivers for your capture device. See the Virtual Dub website for more solutions (http://www.virtualdub.org/docs_capture).

Are you using ATI MMC for capture, and if so, which version?
In version 7.5 (which I recommend) there is a maximum capture file size setting. I think that when the limit is reached, it goes on to create a new file, so capture size should only be limited by your hard disc. I have not verified this personally, but I think I read it somewhere.
NTFS can only be used on Windows NT, 2000 or XP, and not on Windows 95, 98 or ME.

If you think you are running into the 4gb limit, switch to ntfs. For info on how to switch to ntfs in xp pro look at your manual or help files.
