I am trying to edit a video together and, when it comes out, the last quarter or so of the resulting video has the audio and video out of sync. It is perfectly synced up in preview mode, but when it comes out it's not. Part of one clip has the audio get cut off at the end because the next clip is starting, if that makes any sense. The video starts out in sync, but gets thrown off-sync partway through. Please help me.

Please give us AS MUCH information as possible!

What is your source???? If for example the audio is in VBR mode you might get sync problem.
If you don't know what your video source is then use MediaInfo, open video, view->text and copy and paste the information.

Here is the info about the file that gets thrown off-sync:
    1 video stream MPEG-4 Visual (DiVX 5)
1 Audio stream MPEG Audio (MP3)

    First Video Stream:
    701 kbps 400*300 (4/3) at 30.035 fps, MPEG-4 Visual (DIVX 5) (Packed Bitstream) (BVOP)

    First Audio Stream:
128 kpbs, 44.1 KHz, 2 Channels, MPEG Audio (MP3) (Version 1) (Layer 3) (Joint Stereo)

Converting to a different audio format with VirtualDub gives the same result as Windows Movie Maker did.

So you did try Virtualdub and converted the audio to wav, audio->full processing, audio->compression->uncompressed and save as a new avi. Then the new avi is out of sync?

Or try save the audio as a separate wav, audio->full processing and file->save as wav and then add it to the avi using virtualdub again, audio->audio from another file, audio->direct stream copy and save as new avi.

Or else it might be the framerate. 30.035fps doesn't sound that good....you could try change it 30fps in virtualdub and save as new avi.

I tried changing the framerate to 30 and it worked to an extant, but not on every file i'm working on and sometimes the files will skip after I do that.
