  1. -Hey!-

So, I've just this week started learning anything at all about creating VCDs, and my question is this:

What is the best way to convert a Flash movie to NTSC compatible format? I've been exporting my Flash movies to .avi, then using AVI2VCD, then using TMPGEnc to encode the audio. This process has been working fine in the sense that I can play it in my DVD player, but a little of the quality has been lost along the way (i.e., faint verticle strobing lines across the movie).

What is the best way I can do this?

    -Thanks!-

  2. Yup that's the only way. Otherwise you'd have to invest in a 3rd party program ($300) to take your swf file and turn them into avi's

Also, work at the resolution your movie is going to be at, and be sure to put it at 30 fps when you do flash animations.

You have to make sure that you uncheck compress video before exporting however.

    Just out of curiousity...

What would the 3rd party program be?

I'm not having the best luck with the "Export" method...

  4. I forget the name, but if you search at Macromedia's website, you'll find a link to the company that makes it

As for Export, I dont know what you're tyring to do , or what the quality of your Flash animation is, the size, resolution etc, and withou the original Flash File I wouldn't know how to help with the problems you're experiecing.

I've never had problems exporting Flash out as an avi for any of hte projects i've done.

Thank you for this piece of advice! It really helped a lot! My flash animation was set at 12 fps and I had compression checked. It looks much better at 30 with compression unchecked! Thank you!!!
