Why cant I record 2 programmes at once on Foxsat HDR

Trying out my new Humax which claims you can record 2 programmes at the same time.
Tried this from the epg using 2 programmes one above the other but when 2nd programme is selected it says I cant do it as there is already 1 programme scheduled. Am I missing something The HDR is connected to a quad lnb with twin cable.

According to the specs that I can find, they don't state that you can record to programs. The specs state recording channel while watching another.

The Humax web site clearly says record two channels at the same time.

I Assume it has two tuners therefore it should record two channels but you would have to watch one of the channels it is recording. my Freeview recorder does that, while my cable recorder has 3 tuners which can record two whilst watching another. That link you posted does say it will do that. But not much more. what about the manual, does it say anything else.

That would explain it. The instruction book does not make that point very clear.
