I could really use some help. Sorry If this is wrong or wrong place.

We had a passing in our family few days ago and some one made a mp4 file and a flv file a tribute to our family. But I know that dvd players can't play MP4 or FLV files.

What do I need to covert these 2 files to play in a stand alone dvd player

And I'm not too sure if dvd players can play JPEG Digital Camera pictures.
and for pictures what can I do to get them to play in dvd player

I just can't think at this time

Any help of this is very much appreciated during these troubled times

    I thank you all

Use convertxtodvd or dvd flick and convert the mp4 and flv to dvd-video and it should work on most dvd players.

And most dvd players supports jpg files on a cdr but if not then the make a still picture dvd-video using for example dvd slideshow gui or photodex proshow .

It would help if you mention what dvd player you have.
Option 1) If it is able to play MPEG4 content (divx, xvid), then I would convert the files into MPEG4 compressed avi. The advantage is small size of the files.
Option 2) Convert them into MPEG2 compressed mpg files. The player should be able to play these files.
Option 3) Convert them as classic DVDs. The player will play the films as any other DVD.
You should be able to play JPEG files on a standalone dvd player (I think they all support this format).

For maximum compatibility, convert your video to ordinary DVD-compliant MPEG2. To the suggestions that have already been made, I would add Quick Media Converter as another possibility. It's free and easy to use. It also has an "expert mode" for power users who want to tweak things beyond the default values.
