  1. I have searched and read that people are asking the same question. I didn't want to jack their thread.

    So could you put a HD or BLu format on DVDR? Is that what they call AVCHD?

    Is it similar to DVD format to CDR? Some dvd can't read, but some can read and recognized it as miniDVD and only about 20min worth of viewing?

    I"m assuming it might be like the same with Hi Def disk, get the 1080i resolution instead of 720 but limited viewing minutes.

    So has anyone tried it successfully?

    Yes, it can be done.
    Yes, it works on some players and not on others.
    Yes, you have to compromise either in resolution and bitrate or in running time in order to make it fit.
    Yes, there are plenty of posts explaining how it can be done.
