Hi. I was wondering, is it possible to change the main feature on a DVD, I mean, I want to leave the menu, extras, etc, but when I click "play movie" I want the DVD to play another movie file that I have on my computer, not the one that came with it. Itīs like replacing a file with another file. Is that possible? In Mac or Windows.

    Thanx!

Yep, using vobblanker. You must first convert the new video to dvd mpeg2 and then author it using muxman and then use the replace function in vobblanker.

Hey thanks Baldrick, you mean I need to convert the whole dvd to dvd mpeg2 or just the movie I have in my computer?

EDIT: Sorry, Iīve just red your words correctly, "new video".

    Thanks again, Iīll try it!

Hmmm I couldnīt do it. I have converted the new video, a mp4 file, to mpeg 2 using xilisoft video converter. But It seems that MuxMan wonīt let me open it, although I am not sure what do I have to do In case it can open file. (sorry for my bad english)

  5. If Muxman won't open the video then it's not DVD compliant. Is this for NTSC? Has pulldown been applied already? Maybe post a GSpot picture so we can have a look to see what's wrong.

    Yes itīs for NTSC.
Hmmm I donīt know how to apply pulldown.
And maybe if you can explain to me how to post a GSpot picture...

The thing is like this, I have the dvd of the movie Voices Of A Distant Star and I donīt like how the movie is subtitled, so I want to replace the movie file with a version Iīve downloaded from the internet. But I want to leave the menu, extras, interviews, etc.
The movie is in mp4 format.

  7. What did this Xilisoft give you back? A DVD? If so (VOB, IFO, BUP files), then you don't need Muxman for anything. Just do the 'Replace' thing in VobBlanker. If you got something else, then, whatever it is, Muxman doesn't want it as it accepts only elementary streams - already DVD compliant video and audio, subs, chapters.

How to take a GSPot pic? Open the video in GSpot and take a pic however you usually take screen pics. I use MWSnap (freeware). Then you upload it in your next post using the 'Browse' button you'll find just below where you type stuff.

You're replacing the entire movie just because you don't like the subs? And you're replacing it with an inferior reencoded and downloaded version? Not even addressing the question of using illegally downloaded movies for anything, it sounds to me like just replacing the subs (or even editing the subs you already have) would be a better course of action.

I have the DVD, I donīt think it would be illegal to download it...
The DVD has english subs, so I want to replace it with a version with spanish subs.
You have a point when you say Im replacing it with an inferior version and I could just replace the subtitles, itīs just that I like this version because the subs have different color depending on who is talking, and the soundtrack is subtitled too.

I was able to convert the mp4 to vob with Xilisoft. But when I select the main film and click replace, vobblanker asks me for an ifo file, not vob.

Are you saying this Xilisoft gave you back VOBs but not the IFOs and BUPs that go with them? If so, then I don't think I believe you.

Yes, it just gave me a VOB file.
Any program recommendation to do this? MP4 to VOB, IFO and BUP.

  11. You can create IFOs for it using IFOEdit. You can demux and then remux to get a real DVD using Muxman. Or you can use some other converters to go from MP4 to DVD. I don't do that kind of thing, but someone else can help or you can search the guides found on this site.
