I've downloaded some thx and dolby trailers in vob-format. is it possible to burn them on a cdr, so that my standalone dvd player will read it as a dvd and play them? (and yes my dvd player does support cdr).
Thanx in advance for your help,
Windom Earle.

If you have a DVD-authoring program, then you can author a DVD image and burn it on CD-R. This is what is commonly known as miniDVD or cDVD.
However, very very few stand-alone players support these discs.
If you search for "miniDVD" on the forums, you should find more info on this.

I have a better idea...
Get DVD Demystified book and you get the Dolby Digital and THX trailers on DVD!
It's a good investment for $50 but can get it cheaper at Amazon. -
Or even cheaper.... http://www.dvddemystified.com/
The Q&A section is extremely demystifying
