  1. hi sorry im posting this one again but as im a newbie i wasnt sure if posted to the right forum before: here is my problem I have two disks that seemingly contain VCD files , the first disk plays on a standalone dvd player (the media is CDr) and on my PC ,but the 2nd disk only plays on my standalone .When I try to play the disk on my computer it doesnt play , when looking into the disk it displays amount of megs burned on it but nothing else , no mpegav files , no .dat files ,but it plays on my standalone player. I have no knowledge of how this 2nd disk was burned so have no idea how to fix it . In short does anybody Know how to turn the data on the 2nd disk into a mpeg 1 as the dubbing on it so bad it is unwatchable .........pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee reply to this post as it is my first real try at such a huge task(as its turning out to be) . If nobody has a solution to this problem, then could someone please tell me what they think is on the 2nd disk and if there is a program to rip it from the disk .....this is really starting to rain on my parade thanx.

  2. download iso buster as this should display the info listed in the mpgav directory... extract the file to an MPEG & then burn it again using nero. due to the vague desription this is all I can do to help at the mo.

  4. Media player does not always detect the program properly so U will encounter lots of hastles. I used to get similar problems with VCD's so if U want them 2 work on your PC try using powerDVD this works 4 me as media player sometimes tries to load things then gives up saying wrong codec or something. If U can extract all the infro from both disks try burning them again so they work. Its sometimes the disks that cause the the bother or the way they were burnt. The best software for burning has to be Nero as U R gonna get a working copy. Use a lower speed as 8 speed if U are unsure,. I burn mine at 16 sometimes and they screw up the happy medium as about 8speed to 12 speed. Anything above this the data may not be burnt correctly but it normal works fine.
