DiVX -> SVCD (works!!) but the ends are cut

I convertet a DiVX to SVCD using help from this forum.
But I have 2 questions:

1. When I forward.. the sound is ok , when I reward its out of sync .
(but the movies is ok when startet fram beginning)

2. The convertet movie has been cut a bit on both sides when I play it on my TV. Why is that ? and how can I convert - so that the whole movie would fit on my TV screen ?

I used: VirtualDub14 - to extract audio
TMPGEnc 2.51.33.127 - convert divx to mpeg
Nero 5.5.5.1 - burn mpeg image
dvTools24 - to cut the big (1.8Gb mpeg) into pieces

btw; to get the result I wanted, I had to use 3CD.. I have tried packing the movie down to 2x80min CDs, but without any (quality-loss) luck.

Dosen't anyone have a idee to - what can be wrong ?
Why are both sides of the movie cut off.. when showing it on TV ?
