  1. Hello.

I bought a samsung sh895 to backup all my vhs to dvd.
If i copy a 3hours tape to the dvd to edit later basicly i have to fat forward from the 00 minute imagine till 1h30, and i basicly have to watch the complete movie, it takes a lot of time, like 4 minutes from minute 00h to minute 1h30 to then split the video.
Or imagine i record 2 hours and then need to delete the last 5 minutes i have again to forward to the end wait about 10 minutes to go tothe end to then delete. all dvd recorders are like this? i'm used to rip using my computer wt a capture card and on the computer the edit is much more faster to scroll. this is like this in all dvd recorders?

    Thanks

Shouldn't the DVD recorder make chapter marks? Once you STOP the 1st recording, it should make a new title. You should be able to set the recording time/quality (HQ 1HR, SP 2HR, LP 3HR, etc). You ever use Womble MPEG Video Wizard? Easy to edit video. I have a Panasonic and a Ilo DVD Recorder and both have this option of time/quality setting.

    Here's a link for a Womble Tutorial.

I just started using it last night, easy to mark in/mark out and then use the cut feature. Standalone DVD Recorders are not very versatile with editing.

My RJTECH dvd recorder has an internal HDD, all the editing is done there.

  4. my dvdrecorder also has hdd and i'm doing the edit here (if i wanted to edit on the computer i would stay with my canopus, if i have a dvdrecorder i wanted to do all the edit in that machine.
But in this case to cut takes so much time to go to the position that i want. it's like fast forward a vhs tape. Is this normal in all dvdrecorder???
