    Hey!!!
I'm getting really mad about my Compaq CRT Monitor
    changing its color frequently.
from RED to BLUE to GREEN and so on...

Then I try to give it some slaps.. 8) 8)
gets OK for some time..then again that
    chameleon style.

I also checked the De Gauss option on
monitor console..It works but again color changes

I have been using it for 5 years.
    any solution ....
    Thnkx.

Only an authorized technician is allowed to use the slap method

You are also NOT authorized to use the 6 foot drop to the floor method

It sounds like a connection inside the unit is failing - could be a poor solder joint or an oxidizing pin inside a connector.

Maybe time to replace it with a nice LCD monitor

The VGA cable is usually built into a CRT monitor, and not replaceable. I hope that the OP'er checked to see if the connector to the computer is loose before slapping around the monitor

    Thnkx a lot for authorization

I have checked all ports and connectors
    cleaned them and plugged tightly.

but now I think, its time to buy an LCD monitor.
