    Hey guys. Is there a program(preferably free) out there that will allow me to not only author but add overlay effects to slideshows. Im not looking for Aftereffects, just something that would allow text to materialize or fade in over a .JPG .

    DVDSlideshowGUI (free) allows you to subtitle some text over your slideshow. I haven't used this feature, not sure how flexible it is.
