    Good evening.

I have some old programs that run with Win95 and Win98 but not with WindowsXP.

Is there any way to run those programs with WindowsXP?

    Thank you for your help.

    Cheers.

They may be DOS (Disk Operating System) programs, which usually won't run in XP (Or Vista or W2000). You can try a DOS emulator like this: http://sourceforge.net/projects/dosbox Or do a internet search for ' run dos programs on xp ' or ' dos emulator xp ' and filter through them for something that might work.

  4. Right-click on the program icon and select Properties, then select Compatibility.
If they were designed for DOS then you need DOSBox.

You can also create dual boot Win98/WinXP or Win95/WinXP if you still have Win98 or Win95 install discs. I have a dual boot Win98/Win2k for that very reason. Then I just boot to Win98 to run older programs and boot to Win2k for everything else. Note creating such a dual boot system requires the older OS be installed first.

Download Virtual PC from Microsoft. Install Virtual PC. Once installed, you will need the install discs from Windows 95 or 98 and install the operating system in the virtual pc. Once installed, install your software, and you are done.
