Was browsing the web this evening and came across this post from one of the forum members, I can't take the credit for finding the hack really but tried it on my LG HT903 DVD player this evening and it works!!! Saves me a few quid in replacing my region 1 DVD's.

    Here's the link:
Region code hack posted by Endymion70, April 21 2009:
I found this hack on another model and tried it on this model... It worked fine for me... Here is what I did...

1 - On the default (LG logo) screen, with no DVD playing (it does not matter if you have DVDs in the trays) Type "Pause" then "1472". A Prom Setting screen should come up.
2 - Press up on remote till you reach 05 Xe where X is a number (region code) eg. 1e
3 - Type "0" then hold down "5" for a few seconds then release. It should then read as 0e. If it does then press "enter" on the remote. If it doesn't try pressing the number "5" a little bit longer till it does. Then press "enter".
4 - Press the "pause" button again once the above is done. That will exit you out of the Prom screen and back to the default screen.
5 - Power off then power back up the machine. It is now region free.

A word of advice... Make sure you write down all your numbers & letters in the Prom Screen before you change anything. That way you can change it back to what it was in case you changed something else by accident. However, I would caution you NOT to change any other thing.
Thanks Endymion70, hope others find this of use!

Pretty amazing, one of the few specialty players that I've come across that can be hacked.

Thanks for the post, Cyber-Dan. Krispy Kritter is quite right. You have no idea what kind of odds you beat here. It's not only getting harder everywhere in the world to find any players that can be hacked, even a few years ago when it wasn't so hard to find hackable players, home theater systems could only very rarely be hacked.

Do note that RCE on some region 1 DVDs will require you to set the region to 1 if you want to play the discs.
