    Solved problem--all it took was a new computer 2.2 Gateway DX 4200 and 29 dollar Firewire home kit by SIIG--comes with Ulead VideoStudio 10 SE software. Fire wire card with three firewire ports and a cable. Can now use Cyberdirector and windows movie maker probably more. Maybe software alone will work but using their card and cable. Fry's has it---works like a charm.
