I want to select a 10 minute clip from a regular DVD. I tried using DVD Shrink, (fast and easy to use) but when it was processing, a window appeared that said it was "encoding". I don't want any encoding. I just want to select a small clip and have the final result still in the original DVD format parameters. I don't want to use TMPGEnc DVD Author because I think that also recodes. The cut points don't have to be frame perfect.

Just b/c shrink says encoding(which it always does, btw) doesn't mean it's re-encoding...It only transcodes when compression is applied...
You could also use avidemux, and save a clip w/o re-encoding, if you use the 'Copy profile(s) and same format.." Who needs Google, my wife knows everything"
