    Hey guys!

I have a few audio demo DVD discs and I'm wondering if it's at all possible to store parts of the DVD onto the Playstation3 HDD without any compression/conversion. I am wanting to save DVD chapters which have 5.1 multi-channel audio tracks onto the HDD so I can demo my surround sound quicker and easier than putting the original DVD into the player and selecting the track I want to play.

I know how to extract DVD chapters and convert them to Divx/Xvid files, but as they are only in stereo and not in 5.1 surround sound, this is not what I am trying to do.

    Thanx for your help!

Doesn't the ps3 support vob files with ac3 audio? Then you can try split by chapters in dvddecrypter, in IFO mode and change Mode->Settings->Ifo MODE->File Splitting to By Chapter. No reconversion.

You can create Divx files with 5.1 AC3 audio, or create H.264 MP4 or M2TS files with 5.1 AC3. All are supported by the PS3
