I've been using Videora to encode vids for my ipod touch and noticed that it only loads one core of my cpu so I was thinking that another app that uses all three cores would be faster. The occasional crashing of the program is also another reason I was looking for a replacement so can anyone recommend a freebie encoder that fits the bill? Thanks for any help offered.

think of the the .net stuff as a library a program can borrow some code from. .net doesn't run or do anything by itself. it's harmless to install.

XVID4PSP is my favorite go-to program although I am worried that it hasn't been updated in a long time yet the x264 codec has been updated multiple times since.
I hope the person or persons behind XVID4PSP haven't given up ...
However it still works wonders for me
