Im trying to convert an AVI into a form that I can burn properly but when I get to the bitrate setting in the wizard it tells me that that movie is 326 mins long and nearly 10gb. The AVI file is only 700mb and the movie is not nearly that long. So Im a little confused here . I dont have a clue what Im doing so I might be overlooking somthing very simple. Really frustrating, thanks for the help guys.

It's usually because of vbr audio, see the old www.videohelp.com/tmpgenc#problems .
If you are making a DVD I would use something else like FAVC (together with HCENC).
