So is anyone picking up a nintendo dsi? It's out today - in the North American market that is.

I just bought a nintendo ds lite last fall. The addition of a camera is not enough reason to buy a new portable system for me. And it lacks a gba port. Granted I don't remember the last time I've played a gba/gb game on the ds but it's still nice to have the option.

Is it supposed to have built in wifi web browsing now in the dsi? That would be a nice feature. I know they made a ds broswer adapter for the other regions. Did they ever release one for the US market? It would be neat to have the ds be a web browser. I was under the impression that was only for non-US models but I could be wrong.

Also I heard they removed the volume slider? So what is it an internal option now and not a physical adjustment?
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

I just got one at an early release yesterday.

The volume is controlled by buttons on the side instead of a slider. It's still there, just different (on the left side).

It also has cameras and a cool little photo app that's pretty fun.

I have the memory adapter and web browsers for the DSL, but it doesn't support the range of wi-fi security that the DSi does.

I play GBA games a lot, so the removal of the slot is a bummer.

  3. It's only worth getting if you don't have a DSL. It's another of Nintendo's classic attempts to reinvent something they've already made instead of making something new and better. I'd personally rather have the GBA slot than a net browser and camera. I can't for the life of me understand the move to make all consoles and handhelds into mini computers instead of game consoles.

Actually, I work as a CSR, and if I'm waiting for a call, my boss let me know I can use my DS if I want, as long as I'm ready when the calls come in. I like the DS because it does let me play retro games on it, like Spy Hunter, Defender and Sinistar (GBA). So I don't need a DSi.
There are no problems - only chances to excel.
