    Hi,

I have edited/created a clip like it is described here: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic364743.html

    I finally got everything like I wanted. Here's a clip: http://tokintmash.pri.ee/test.mkv
As I said I don't want to re-compress and I want to use VLC player's real time deinterlace. As I've seen from my tests, re-compressing ends up in bigger files with worse quality but I need all the quality I can get.

But when I upload this file to Youtube, this happens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sp8VRzGyNHA&feature=channel_page

It seams like a frame rate issue and the audio is out of sync once again. You can tell by the small jump right under the pylon. In the original file the landing sound is in place, on YT it's already ahead.

What can be the problem here? Interlaced video perhaps?

  2. mkv is not a preferred format at youtube. try h264 mp4s with aac audio.

constant bit rate audio might help if yours is vbr.

Copied audio and video to MP4 with Avidemux and uploaded to YT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwb67_s2XVc&feature=channel_page

Still not good. How can you maintain the aspect ratio in Avidemux btw?

Audio is mono and MP3. It's because I needed to edit it. What soft shoudl I use for editing AAC(cutting, amplifying)? Adobe Audition refuses to open AAC.

Oh. And Adobe Premiere has trouble playing this MP4 too. I dunno how to describe it exactly but the picture is wobbly.

  5. do all your editing in the original source format and then encode to mp4, re-encoding will only reduce quality. try to never edit in a long gop format like mp4.

    adobe soundbooth works with aac.

youtube will take mp4 with mp3 audio, make sure it's cbr, and i think they would prefer stereo, justt duplicate the mono track.

This is how it's done. My idea all along has been not to re-encode. Just cut and paste.

I tried to open the MP4 in Premiere only after the change of containers to see if I can now convert it to some other fomat for youtube.

  7. if the converted mp4 plays fine in vlc or mpc then don't worry about it. upload it as an mp4 file to yt, don't change the container to anything else.

It plays fine in vlc but the audio is out of sync. After uploading to YT there is also the frame rate issue.

It is edited without any re-encoding, only using Avanti to demux and MKVmerge to mux and split/merge.

But basically there is no difference if I upload a MKV or MP4. Both have same problems after.

    Here: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic364743.html

The link in the first post.

I did a test with this sample file to see if something had happened while I split the files in MKVmerge, but result is the same:

    MKV
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Uxvei1HETQ&feature=channel

    MP4
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moz9c_BUeck&feature=channel

These are raw file A/V demuxed then muxed again into MKV and then copied to MP4 container. Nothing has been modified. The only thing I did was setting aspect ratio to 4:3 and FPS to 50 in MKV merge-

I uploaded also the very raw file: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFwd73jnDPI

Same thing ... so it appears it is not MKV that causes it.

It is interesting that this does not appear with other videos that I have shot with the same camera and edited in Premiere and saved as MP4. Like this for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jez1KJmYaNA

I would happily use Premiere again to crop and save the video again for YT but Premiere has now trouble too

Get properties for file tells me that the original MPG source FPS is 25 but the MP4 that was made from MKV has FPS 12,5.
Media info on VLC player tells me the FPS is still 50. Somehow this info goes missing.
