    Hi

Back in January I picked up Kodak Zi6 pocket digital recorder for recording local club concerts and posting them on YouTube. I got a crash course in the mysteries of H.264/x264, VirtualDub and its plugins, Avidemux, SUPER, and such, plus how to extract audio, clean it up, and then put it back in. I've made some progress, but I recently ran into a tricky lighting situation that gave a day-glo blue to anything at the front of the stage. I tried all sorts of filters, including Colormill and such, but aside from completely removing the color and give it a sepia tint or such, nothing seems to really attack the day-glo blue:

The color saturation is about 28% of what it was originally, and I hued it as much as I could on skin without causing everything else to get even funkier and not at all resembling reality.

Any ideas or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Probably not a lot of hope to correct it. Most programs like Color Mill just use the colors you have available and alter them. If you have nothing but blue, then there isn't anything to work with. You can change the blue, but since it's the only color that shows, you can only change it's hue. Outside of tedious colorizing, I don't know of any simple cure.

But others may have some ideas.

    And welcome to our forums.

Thanks for the quick response. Yeah, it didn't seem like it would be a simple fix, although I was kind of hoping that maybe there was some obscure VirtualDub plugin that might alleviate things somewhat. I might try a redo minus all but a hint of color. Some dude on MySpace contacted me that he had a really clean audio recording of this show, including this song -- it would be nice to get a well balanced video out of this little demo of how to rock.
