Help please-cannot playback dvd recorder hard drive recordings ?

Hi,
Suddenly we dont seem to be able to view tv through dvd recorder as picture is all broken up/blurred-therefore we cannot record either directly or on timer.Almost as if dvd recorder is on different freq. to tv?We can however watch previously recorded programs from the harddrive recorder and the tv is fine.Also seem to be able to record direct from tv if use button on tv remote.
DVD recorder is Panasonic dmr-ex768eb and tv is panasonic 1080 .

Anybody any ideas as I have been scatching my head for several days now and Mrs is giving me loads of grief as she cant tape her favs.?

Anybody able to help-probably something quite basic like an av channel messed up??
