  1. All my movies turn out fine but I am having an annoyance. Everything looks great on my monitor, but when I convert to Vcd, there is a bit of pixillation I would like to get rid of it (or reduce it a bit). It's not too bad, but it is a bit of an annoyance. Any suggestions? The software I use is: Smartripper, DVD to AVI,TMPGenc, Tscv or nero ( same results with both).

  2. I presume you use DVD2Avi to frameserve to TMPGenc right? If you are producing SVCDs you should either lower the resolution or bump up the framerate. Doing VBR encoding also helps, since the more complex parts will get higher bitrates.

  3. What does frameserve mean? I use DVD2AVI b4 I encode 2 VCD Compliant mpeg.

  4. Frameserving means that you save a Dvd2Avi project file and open that project file in TMPGenc. The other way you could do it is to encode to DivX first and then open that file in TMPGenc (which would give quality loss).

The only way I can think of to get rid of your problem is to make an SVCD with multipass VBR and 480x480 resolution.
