    I'm just beginning in the editing world and have the Ulead VideoStudio8. When I move the trim bars to their trim position the sicissors icon highlights while I am moving the trim bars to position but as soon as I release the bar, the scissors are dimmed again and I'm unable to hit the icon while it's highlighted. Also this isn't a bad software, but was curious what some of you are using. I don't need a 'professional' software, but I do want the ability to do a little more than a simple cut and paste program.

    That's why I use VideoRedo for that task. VS 8 is not good. I have the latest VS version, but I still like VideoRedo better.
    VideoRedo has great support and forums.

    And check out the miulti-trim function. That's the way I cut most things in VS.
