Need the Best Settings for MKV from Xvid4PSP

Hi all,

i am converting all my Old DVDs to MKV format(x264)

i am using Video encoding : x264 Q18 Ultra and Audio encoding : AC3 384 Kbps as the settings.

please anyone tell me the best settings to get Highest Quality output from the source.

i am less bothered about the size of file.

The video encoding has Q16-Q18-Q21 Extreme/Turbo/Ultra settings.please anyone can give the best settings in this or any link which describes the settings.

and in one of the converted files i am gettings lines in between the videos please help me in this regard also.
