  1. When you look at the rip window on Smartripper, you see that it has three "Methods" I guess you would say. They are "ASPI", "DeCSS", and "VobDec". Well, in the settings, you can shoose either ASPI or DeCSS methods, but there is no choice of VobDec. So why is it there, and Grayed out along with the other two in the Ripping window? How do I use the VobDec method with SmartRipper if possible? If it's not possible, then why does it show up there at all, just greyed out?

  2. Nobody know's? Not surprising, otherwise there would be a How-to on it here on this website then, wouldn't there? Well, if anybody does figure it out, please feel free to enlighten us all.

  3. vobdec is another way to get the encryption key. unlike decss, it doesn't get it directly from the dvd-rom, instead it uses some kind of "crytographic attack" to get the encryption key. i'm not sure if this is completely accurate, but i believe that's wut vobdec was. this allows you to get the encryption key without having your dvd-rom play the dvd first, i believe.
