I'm posting this for a friend; (as I have neither a PC nor Premiere 6.5), and any help you can offer will be most gratefully received.

My friend has recently purchased a new PC. And I'm sorry, but I can't tell you more than that.
As far as I'm aware it's running Windows XP, has a very fast CPU, plenty of RAM and storage.

My friend is still running Premiere 6.5 which worked OK, on his older slower PC.
As far as I'm aware he can capture footage without issue.

He encountered a problem where playback of edited footage stopped after 10 mins.
This turned out to be related to a screen saver turning on apparantly.

he now has a problem where playback of edited footage stops after 20 mins. From an email he sent me:
"I am also trying to work out why my new computer can only handle 20 minutes of running time when playing back a edit".

I have neither a PC nor experience with Premiere 6.5.

Can anyone tell me, (so I can tell him), if there are any settings or preferences in Windows XP or Premiere 6.5 that may be causing this? Or of anything that nay be causing this problem?

Many Thanks all.
