    Greetings ....

Hello, people - This is my very first post at Videohelp. I wasn't sure where to put this one, so if the moderators want to place it in the proper category, please do so.

I am inquiring about a Kworld SA-290-Q LE Tv Box. (link provided for illustration purposes)

It is advertised as a stand-alone, no PC required ATSC-QAM Digital TV Tuner, requiring just a TV monitor with HDTV capability. It appears to have both the RCA single-line composite video output as well the triple "component" video outputs, the latter providing the higher-resolution displays.

If anyone has experience or reasonable knowledge of this product, I would like to have answers these questions ...

    • Will it indeed tune digital channels supplied by antenna or a local cable service?

    • Can its video outputs be run thru a DVD recorder's coresponding inputs?

FYI - my current DVD recorder is a Panasonic DMR-EZ27, which has a built-in NTSC/ATSC tuner. At one time it did pick-up unencrypted digital signals from my cable provider. Now it will not pick any digital signal, cable or antenna, while my LCD HDTV (Sanyo DP19648) will pick up any antenna or cable digital signals.

    Thanx-A-Lot, Frank-0-Video

It will tune OTA and cable channels, but only channels that are not encrypted.

The output can be supplied to any device you like.
