  1. Hi i have a 23" HP Monitor. I want to be able to watch cable tv on it through HDMI (i have a cable box with the hdmi output but not one upstairs). Will I be able to do this with this tuner box? And is there any way to do it at all?
    Thanks

  2. Maybe. Does your monitor support standard HDTV resolutions? 1280x720p60, 1920x1080i30?

  4. Sounds like the tuner box should work. You'll only be able to watch unencrypted QAM channels and over-the-air (with an antenna) broadcast channels -- usually pretty much the same channels.

An ATSC/QAM tuner like the one shown will only get a limited set of "clearQAM" cable channels usually limited to locals + a few shopping channels. It won't tune analog channels or encrypted cable channels.

You will also probabaly be limited to 1280x720p/59.94 ove HDMI. Most computer monitors lack support for interlace.

To get all the channels, you will need to rent an additional HD cable box (~$8/mo).
