Ive recently starting tinkering with my capture card i bought last year.Im running into a few issues, maybe you guys can help. This is my setup first of all:

    xbox 360 console
regular a/v cables from console to capture card
    ATI tv-wonder 600 usb
DVI from computer to 22" widescreen LCD monitor
    Corel Photostudio 12

The problem im facing is in order for me to play the xbox and capture at the same time, i have to play in a smaller cut screen in my editing software. It comes out to be about a 8x8" screen and its in 4:3 aspect ratio. Its damn near impossible to play worth a damn.I tried to run it full screen but the picture becomes complete crap. When i playback the captured footage, it looks alot better than when im playing. Is there something im able to change to help the resolution while im playing.I tinkered with the xbox settings and set it at 480p and 4:3 but it didnt help at all.Im capturing in MPEG2 with a 480x480 and 4:3 to keep the size down so it can fit on youtube.I just want to be able to enjoy playing it in a better resolution, and ultimatly be able to use full screen while playing and capturing.Maybe im asking the world, or maybe i missed something?

  2. this one is easier than you might think - no splitters required

all you need is the s-video cable from Mad Catz available at GameStop or EBGames

plug the red and white audio, and the s-video, into your TV Wonder's adapter for higher quality recording

then plug the composite video (yellow plug) into another TV and play full screen and lag free - the cable sends composite and s-video signals at the same time

this is a sample recording from the 360 using this cable with the s-video plugged into my DV capture card - note how you can read the fine lettering (and how the runner absolutely pwns Halo Legendary)

the problem with that is im using my computer monitor to play on.I would have to run cords across the room to the 37" lcd i have which i dont want to do.Is there a solution so i could still play on the monitor using either VGA or DVI?

  4. you would need a s-video to VGA scaler for that - don't bother with the more expensive s-video to DVI scaler

if your monitor supports it you can use the VGA port for this setup, the DVI port for your computer, then switch back and forth as needed
