If you are running the latest versions and they don't work, you can either wait, or try some of the old standbys. For every disc some here says they cannot rip with the newest tools, someone will come out and say they did it with DVD Decrypter or DVD Shrink.
God I hate Tuesdays . . . . .Read my blog here.

Now it's basically down to 2 programs, and they are updated constantly.
If I was inclined not to wait for updates or needed it done Tuesday night for the same movie released that same Tuesday, I would most likely visit the program’s forum and not this one

Stiltman, better start repeating these words in your head so that you memorize them: "I refuse to answer on the grounds that I might incriminate myself!" and after you have pleaded the fifth amendment, I suggest you also start pleading the right to bear arms...it just saves time...'

"Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven" ~ JOHN MILTON, PARADISE LOST -
I've tried to back up 'My Best Friends Girl' 5 times. Heres what I've tried so far, and nothing seems to work. .
Ripped with DVD Fab 5.2.3.0(success with and without pathplayer enabled), Burn with DVD Shrink (skips to the end of the movie from the menu and can't watch). Nero Recode freezes up.
Tried to burn from Nero Recode with AnyDVD (6.5.4.1) enabled. Recode freezes up after it doest the quick analysis.
Tried to rip with AnyDVD then burn with Nero Recode, then tried to burn with DVD Shrink. Recode still freezes up, and DVD Shrink states that the movie itself is uncompressable.
I'm out of options here. Has someone been able to successfully back up this movie using any method I haven't already tried? -
As suggested above, wait for an update.
If you're determined, try this:
1) Rip *full disc* with DVDFabHDDecrypter. Latest version!
2) Run FixVTS on the rip. This will re-map the rip, perhaps allowing DVDShrink to deal with it correctly.
3) Reauthor main movie with DVDShrink. Keeping menus is less likely to work but you can try it.
If there are problems remaining, try DVDShrink again, this time use start/end function on the main movie. For start point, jump ahead one chapter, manually back up to one second on the timeline and set. From descriptions above, there is unreferenced junk remaining at the start of the main movie. Very common on ARccOS discs.
Burn with ImgBurn. BTW, DVDShrink doesn't burn the disc, it uses Nero, DVDDecrypter or ImgBurn to do it. Forget Nero, it produces non-compliant DVD-Video discs.
I'm with Stiltman, it's just fun playing with new protections to see if a workaround can be found using existing tools. No real point to it otherwise. In short order updates will be issued addressing the particular problem discs.
Good luck.Pull! Bang! Darn! -

I makes sense for people to recommend waiting for the latest update of their favorite software when they get stuck and can't back up a new DVD release. However, there is also the possibility that an older version will work, while the latest won't. I have come across a number of titles where that was the case, 'Pineapple Express' being one of them. DVDFab Decrypter 4.1.0.0. (+ FixVTS) + DVDShrink did a perfect job, although I used movie mode only.
