Does anyone know if you can get DVD-RW's for longer than two hours. Have tried main outlets and internet without luck so far. I have a few tapes longer than two hours which I want to put onto DVD. I can change recording length on the dvd, but it doesn't seem to work for dubbing.

If you can only get 120's does anyone know how I can do the transfer without having to use 2 dvds

    Cheers

I guess you are using a dvd recorder?

How many minutes you can store on a dvd depends on the video quality you choose so saying that it supports 2 hours is not correct. But if you can't change the recording length(by lower the video quality) on your dvd recorder you can't do anything about it, because there are no bigger dvd-rws than 4.7GB. But if your recorder supports dvd-r DL(Dual Layer) media you can get bigger media, 7.95GB, but no RW media then.

Cheers Baldrick. My recorder supports dvd-r DL, but I guess I will have the same problem when I come to trying to copy the contents of the video tape to the disc, because my recorder only seems to accept changes to more than 120 mins on recording and not dubbing. So I could get a three hour film from the TV onto disc, but that's it.
