    Hello everybody,
I have a very specific need to help me go through a very big load of work.

Starting with high quality AVI videos (about 15 to 35 minutes each), I need to create 5 minutes previews. My idea to speed things up is to take 5 chunks of 1 minute each anywhere in the video. Is there a tool that can randomly select a number of regions of a specific length and then create the chunks? From this I could simply align them and re-encode.

I'm thinking of AVIsynth right now, but that would be a rather complicated script to make sure that the very last minute is selected in each clip (they are not the same length...)

Any ideas on a script or any working process will be more than welcome!

    Thanks and Happy New Year!

Well I did it by patiently building an AVS script to fit my needs. I then used various tools to make a batch avs creation and loaded all that in Vdub.
