  1. folks,

the last time I captured stuff from my taperecorder onto harddrive is 4 years ago. Now I use a complete new machine runnin vista64 with a Radeon HD 3650 card with svhs-IN. BUT unfortunately I can't get a signal. I guess the reason is a driver issue - at least I don't know which I should install. The catalyst 8.2 should have WDM installed but I can't get a signal.

    Any ideas?

    From the ATI webpage:
Note: All-in-Wonder™ boards operate with AMD Windows Vista-Ready Display Drivers under the Windows Vista Operating System. However there is currently no software application which provides TV/Capture functionality for All-in-Wonder™ boards under Windows Vista.

My brother has Vista running on a Dell PC he bought from their website and the only software that works with the capture card in the machine is something that Microsoft wrote that's part of Vista.

I think what SHS was saying is that he believes the OP's Radeon HD 3650 card uses its S-Video port for output, not input. If that is true, the only way to fix that problem is to replace it with another graphics card, or install a capture card with s-video in.

The new HD AIW will only work correctly on a Vista machine. It does not support clear QAM in XP nor do the HD TV Wonder cards. I believe you also have to use the software that comes with the cards, Catalyst Media Center (I think it's Cyberlink Powercinema).
