  1. I just bought an additional 1 Gig DDR2 for my wife´s Toshiba Satellite laptop. I asked for a 533 MHz and got a PC 4200 When I got home I ran CPU-Z and found out that the laptop has the PC 4300 type. Can I use the new memory or should I go and change it even if the 533 MHz speed is the same?. Thanx in advance and sorry if it´s a dumb question.

  5. wtsinnc, sorry (you know...these days...), thanx for the link, I looked there and in other forums and without getting technical, the bottom line seems to be that for practical purposes they´re the same. I took the chance, installed it and woks perfectly...CPU-Z even describes the new memory as PC4300!
minidv2dvd, yes I looked at the kingston site thanks, I looked up the specs for the different types of memory and helped me decide it was ok to mix them (as long as the "speed" was the same)
